Cobrabraid Paracord Bracelet Review

I have seen many people with paracord bracelets on and wondered what all the hype was about. So when the Outdoor Blogger Network presented the opportunity for a chance to review one; I was hoping my luck was still running strong. Fortunately the random number generator new I wanted to review one as well and I was chosen to receive a Cobrabraid Paracord 550 bracelet.

When I received the bracelet in the mail I was surprised how stiff it was. I had never worn one before and when I put it on it was pretty stiff. Once I worked with it a little bit, it loosened up. When I had it on I noticed it was just a hair too big for my wrists. I never gave them a size so this should not be an issue if you order one from them and give them your size. The way that I fixed this was through a tip that someone had mentioned to me by soaking it in water and letting it dry. This did the trick and it sized it down just enough.

I began to wear the bracelet everywhere. I personally like the looks of the paracord bracelets. The Cobrabraid came equipped with an adjustable strap which was very convenient. It definitely made it easy to put the bracelet on and take it off without any worries of it falling off. It was very comfortable to wear as well. I thought that maybe with the adjustable strap with the plastic buckles that it would dig into my wrist or the Velcro would scratch me. It was never uncomfortable to wear.

The tough part of this review was when and how to use the bracelet. I was hoping that it was not a life or death situation and luckily it wasn't. This last weekend I had some free time so I quickly went out to try and catch some fish. I grabbed my pole and my tackle box and was fishing in no time. It turned out to be a great night for fishing and I hooked into a couple decent fish and man were they feisty.

So what does me fishing have to do with the Cobrabraid bracelet? Well I wanted to take home some fish to eat and reached into my tackle box for my stringer and there was no stringer. I decided that now was a better time than any to give the paracord a shot. So slowly I started to unravel the bracelet and it was very simple to unwind as you can see from the pictures below.

So once I unwound the cord it was very easy to use and  I started attaching fish to my new stringer. This worked out really well.

Although it was not a life or death situation, the cord came in handy and I was able to carry my dinner home. it is now kept in my tackle box as my new stringer. I guess you could say that I have hopped on the bandwagon for the paracord bracelets. The one thing I do love about Cobrabraid is right on the website it says "Made in America". They use paracord that is made in America and all the bracelets are made in America. Overall an excellent product!

  1. Excellent review, Dustin. I'll bet it was bittersweet when you actually had to use it, huh? Nice fish, too! What a great way to share the story and how you came about utilizing the paracord. Well done.

    1. Thanks Al. Yeah it was tough to finally use it. I was contemplating using it or not but figured it was a unique way to use it. But I know a good friend that makes them if I want some more... Right Al?

  2. That is my problem, I'd have to have two or three of these things or else I'd never use it for anything other than a bracelet. I'm glad you got some great fish also!

    1. That's why I was able to finally part with this one is because I won one from Al. You should talk with him if you want one. I always have one now.
